Lost in Paradise Unfortunately, I couldn't continue editing my video from home. Having done all my editing on a desktop computer from school completely changed how my video came up in Adobe Premiere Pro from home. I had plans to continue shooting on the beach, but due to the Coronavirus, the beaches were closed and a stay-at-home order was imposed. I did think of a way around these inconveniences to add to my opening. However, Adobe Premiere Pro was lagging so much and failing to support certain media that I couldn't continue my editing process on my laptop from home. My project had also been completely wiped away once I opened Adobe and when I tried looking for a copy of it in my files, an uncommenced project would always show up. I was really trying to put my video back together, but it couldn't be completed within the given time frame and circumstances.

What I liked What confused me Suggestions I think the music fit well with the beachy theme. I also really liked the background scream and car driving away. The only thing confusing was that there was so much time before the ending that it didn't seem to match up very well. Maybe because it went from light sunset lighting to really dark out. A better transition would probably help this. I would maybe change the color of the words at the beginning because sometimes the white was hard to read. I would also work on transition from the beach to car scene. I loved the music and the beach/sunset scenery. The long shots and full shots of the girls in slo-mo executed a beautiful aesthetic. This time around, I added the name of the production company and who was starred in the film. I used the font Baskerville Cyrillic Std Upright for the names of the actors. Palace ScriptTM Regular was used for the main title. I used a filter on the videos to make it toned and to fit more with the idea of summer. I added fade to black a few times towards the end to signal something more serious and a change in the plot. At the end of the movie, I added a screaming sound effect for when the main character got kidnapped and the sound of the trunk closing and car hastily driving away. The problems I faced while editing was trying to import media from the computer into Adobe Premiere Pro. Some files would show, most wouldn’t. Trying to work out this one issue was very time consuming, but it was resolved by making the most of the shots that were available. The titles I want to put in my movie are the Main Title first, the “production company” second, and the names of the people starred in the movie. The movie title I came up with was “Lost in Paradise”. Because I was going for a certain aesthetic feel for the moving opening, I chose to give the title a white cursive font. I tried to test out different video effects with the main title, but realized I like the title how it was alone. I plan to incorporate more video effects into my movie without overdoing it. I used a dissolve transition to put together two cut videos of a volleyball falling from the sky and someone catching it from its fall. The audio I used for the video is a song by Petit Biscuit named Sunset Lover. In order to find a song i really liked to go with the idea of the film( nostalgic, summer, relaxing, teen), I looked up Summer mixes on youtube. After planning to do a group project based on a horror movie opening, my group broke up into individual projects. My individual project is called “Lost in Paradise”. It is an aesthetic intro of a movie based on a girl having a rejuvenating time at the beach with her friends. At the end, the intro takes a turn for the worst and the main character is kidnapped. Filming Post 3 Most of my film was shot from 4:30p.m to 6:30p.m. Here I was taking a video of a beach bag, flip flops, and a phone laying on top of the back. In order to give the shot movement, I backed away and gave the shot a moving high angle view. Filming during golden hour was my goal due to how relaxing and visually pleasing the outcome would be. Golden hour shines a beautiful bronze light on the beach below. Later on, a person in the frame with their back facing the sun shows a nice silhouette figure against the sun. Our group went out to the courtyard to shoot shots that could possibly establish the emptiness of the school. Shots that seem empty covey the idea of loneliness, which is exactly what the main character feels in the film opening. On this morning, it was very foggy, so a creepy feel was incorporated into the video. Fog is usually used as an indicator of something bad or malevolent.

My group began filming this week. We took an establishing shot at sunrise. This shot will be used to establish the setting of a morning at school. This will be the first day the main character goes to school normal and eventually finds out her life becomes everything but normal. The shot pans outward towards the sky and makes the mood seem peaceful.  In this shot, the main character is shown upset and lonely in what seems to be a vacant school. The shot carries along the idea of the character’s isolation and helplessness in the school.

Actors: Berluche Prunier , Chynney Dorvil, Janney Vera, and Arianna Verdecia The roles in the film will include the main character , other students to satisfy the school setting, and the main character’s best friend. Costumes: It would be best for the main character to dress nicely and slowly have her outfit looking older and worn out as time passes. Other students will wear casual attire. Makeup could be used to emphasize the passing of time and what effect being trapped in school so long has on the main character. Props: School, phone , tables, hairbrush, lipgloss, chairs, and bed Locations: courtyard, school hallways, and a bedroom Dates and Time: Capture sunrise (6-7a.m.) . Capture sunset (5:30p.m.). The scene of the main  character getting ready in the “morning” could be shot in the morning or at night. In the first box and very beginning of the film opening the titles are shown and continue to show the actor’s names as the frame transitions into the second box. As the main character wakes up and gets ready for school like a normal teenage girl, opening credits are shown at the bottom of the frame. While she gets ready, the environment is all too regular. There’s girly music playing as she gets ready and she sings along to the words as she brushes her hair and looks at her outfit in the mirror. In the third box, the main character is walking among many other students during passing time but notices people running into her and not paying any attention to her as they usually would since she’s a very popular person. In the fourth box, the main character takes sight of her best friend and happily greets her. Her best friend walks right through her.       For our project, my group and I have chosen to do a horror film opening. What had drawn me to the horror genre was the mysterious touch it gives to a movie as a whole. Horror movies are unpredictable but predictable in the sense that an audience knows something is bound to take an unlikely turn. Instead of being bright like other movies, horror movies are generally dark and use sound effects to its most useful advantage.       In the movie “Bird Box”, lowkey lighting    is added to create a moody effect. Horror movies tend to start off in what seems to be a normal and unthreatening situation. It later on spirals into a nerve racking thriller. Despite starting off the film normally, lowkey lighting is still used to translate that something is bound to go wrong. T he excerpt watched was from Marvel’s “Agent Carter”. Shots, Angles , Movement, Composition As Peggy and Captain America communicate with each other in the beginning, scene there’s a close up shot happening so that the concern and anxiety of both parties is properly visible to the audience. A wide shot goes to show the interior of Captain America’s aircraft. When Peggy understands he is in trouble, a reaction shot captures her crying. After the scene between Peggy and Captain America, the camera tilts up as a city landscape by a bridge is shown. Right upon hanging up the phone, Agent Carter’s(Peggy) boss leaves his office and enters the next room over where all agents are standing and paying close attention.
