Week 3 & 4 (Blog Comments)
I commented on Berluche Prunier and Miguel Rodriguez's blog. On Berluche's Blog, I mentioned how I enjoyed his Cameo, Low-Angle, Reaction, and Perspective shot. I enjoyed his Cameo shot because he was in an all black outfit pressed against a white wall so he reversed the roles of what a cameo shot is. This makes viewers notice Berluche more because the contrast makes him pop. His Low- Angle shot allowed to building to give off more of a dramatic feel. The video makes viewers believe there's something intimidating and powerful about the building since it's being seen from the very bottom. The Reaction shot was enjoyable because Berluche's reaction to something off camera. Viewers get curious and get the vibe that he was reacting to something surprising. Finally, Berluche's Perspective shot draws attention to the action of his hand on the water fountain. It makes viewers feel in sync with him turning on the water fountain.
On Miguel's blog, I mentioned how I enjoyed his Flash, Head On, High- Angle, and Reaction shot.
The Flash shot was well done because of how he went from a black screen to his brother popping uo on the screen and surprising the audience. In the Head-On shot, his little brother exited off to the side instead of coming straight at and behind the camera; viewers could feel the little boy coming at them from the video. The High- Angle shot was nice and steady and you could really observe the action going on in the frame. This way viewers know exactly what the surroundings and outcome of the subject's actions are. The Reaction shot was more enjoyable to watch because an actual reaction was recorded instead of a staged one. Viewers could feel his little brothers quick moment of fear as he reacts to the scary video he's watching.
